CAFFEINATED WANDERINGS PRESENTS:

JEWELRY ON A JOURNEY

BRATISLAVA, DEVIN, BUDAPEST, AND VIENNA
A year ago, we went on a trip to Eastern Europe. James + I had never been there before + we wanted to try something new, so we booked it. Now, we didn't really know anything about Slovakia, but we discovered Budapest + Vienna were only a short train trip away from Bratislava. I was sold! I am all about seeing as many places + cultures as I possibly can, so I was ready! And just look at the images when you search Google! 😍😍😍
Vienna.                                                                  Budapest.
Our first stop, + main base of operations, was Bratislava. We were there just short of a week, so with one day for Vienna + one for Budapest, we didn't have a lot of time in Bratislava itself. That turned out to be ok because there wasn't a ton to do! We spent one day going to Devin Castle, explored the markets, and generally hung around experiencing the local life. Our first meal in the main centre was this gnocci with floury cheese sauce and bits of bacon. Sounds nice, right? Well, the first few bites were pretty good since we were so hungry, but after that it was kind of tedious to finish.
Left to right + top to bottom: View from the top of Devin Castle, Budapest from Parliament, Bratislava Castle, Vienna.
My favorite day of the trip was when we trekked all the way up to Bratislava Castle. The views up there were absolutely spectacular - you could see for miles! There was a museum inside the castle + a couple of cafes and restaurants nearby. We stopped for lunch + a few drinks at one of the cafes that overlooked the city. It was so amazing. I would definitely recommend visiting Eastern Europe if you ever get the chance.

Off on our newest adventure! Hope to hear from you soon!

xo,
Mere

CAFFEINATED WANDERINGS PRESENTS:

JEWELRY ON A JOURNEY

IRELAND
Summer's almost here, which means holidays and trips away for the weekend or maybe a few weeks somewhere exotic! As most of you already know, I have been living on the beautiful Emerald Isle this last year and a half, while maintaining my social retail business, Caffeinated Wanderings Boutique. I'll be leaving here in April to travel home then we're off to Australia, so I wanted to start highlighting a few destinations and how to wear your favorite pieces while you're there. Our first stop: Ireland.
Winter in Ireland is definitely not the best time to visit because it's cold and rainy; however, sometimes you get lucky with dry days (but still cold)!
A lot of the time here, you need to wear a scarf or earmuffs, which can cover up your beautiful jewels! The solution? Wear dangly earrings with your gorgeous scarf or a sparkly necklace with those fluffy earmuffs!
There are a lot of amazing hiking spots in Ireland. Some of my favorites can be found in Co. Kerry at the Gap of Dunloe or Torc Mountain. Say yes to studs during these travels!
Then sometimes, you get these strangely beautiful days
Ireland is truly a beautiful place and I would totally recommend seeing it at least once in your life. The people are fabulous, the food is delicious, and the sights are so majestic and the stuff of fairy tales. I feel like a princess sometimes and the sparkles simply enhance the image!
I hope you join me on my next chapter of Jewelry on a Journey, when we travel somewhere new!
